What are Conventional PU，Water-Based PU， Solvent-Zero PU and Biodegradable PU？
Commun Consistance of PU material
Normally PU material is made with 2 main part: PU coating and Base Fabric. The most applied base fabric is polyester.
Conventional PU
Used to be an Eco inovation to subsitude PVC. For it doesn't have the prolem of carcinogen Plasticant.
And Polyurethane itself is a substance that degrades easily. It can start the hydrolisis process in merely half year, If we does not add addtional treatment to make it more pratical.
However during the process of making, conventional PU will emitt an amount of VOC beacuase of the solvent applied, DMF particularly.
Also, the polyester base fabric is a relatively hard-to-degrade substance. Can take more than half a centry.
Water-Based PU
Water-based material is the new trend, it used much less solvent, but still needs to aplly a little solvent in some process. But the quantity is so small that it's undetectable in the finhished item.
And compare to Solvent-based, it's usually a bit stiffer. But Dognxin can already make the softness most equal to conventional PU, and we are core supplier of some brands requires water-based Only.
Solvent-Zero PU
Our Solvent-Zero PU series is the most advanced trend, it uses absolutly Zero solvent. The raw material dessolves and forming film only with internal reation.
Biodegradable PU
About the base fabric. Though polyester is a substance that is difficult to degrade, but its physical stablity and softness is not replaceable.
Therefore we are trying to replace the polyester with plantfiber，such as pineapple, bamboo, soy bean, genrally mix them.
However, the best percentage tenhnically possible for plantfiber is 70% so far. We still need to add some polyester, otherwise the material will be too fragile to use.
